ADOC also monitors indirect GHG emissions (Scope 2) from imported energy, i.e. associated with utilities purchased
from Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA). In 2024, scope 2 GHG emissions amounted to 2,029
tCO e.

In addition, ADOC recorded non-GHG emissions 2,552 tons in 2024. These emissions are attributed primarily to gas ADOC SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2024
turbines, backup diesel generators, and flaring activities used for electricity generation.
Our commitment to reducing GHG and other air emissions is demonstrated through initiatives such as sour gas injection,

which not only prevents the release of hydrogen sulphide (H 2 S) and SO into the atmosphere but also enhances oil
recovery.
Flare management at ADOC
ADOC adheres to a zero-flaring policy since 2001 and we have successfully reduced the amount of natural gas flared
by 90% since 1971. We have established annual KPIs to promote ongoing development of our operational performance.
During the reporting period, a total of 61 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF) of hydrocarbons was flared as part
of planned operational flaring activities. There was no routine flaring during the reporting period.

ENERGY USE AND EFFICIENCY
As energy consumption is one of the major contributors and operational controls are central to our strategy for
to GHG emissions, we recognise the importance of minimizing energy-related emissions. These efforts not
optimising our energy usage. ADOC is committed only support our environmental goals but also contribute
to improving energy efficiency across all operational to cost savings and operational resilience.
