CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS THE UN SDGs
At ADOC, we align our operations and sustainability strategy with the UN SDGs, which serve as a universal call to action
to end poverty, protect the planet, and promote prosperity for all. All key sustainability-related activities we undertake as ADOC SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2024
an organization are mapped based on their alignment and contribution to the UN SDGs.
ADOC maintained a strong safety performance in 2024, achieving zero fatalities. We
prioritize the health and well-being of our employees through comprehensive medical
coverage, and three clinics across onshore and offshore sites. Regular training ensures
that staff are well-prepared to manage health and safety risks.
ADOC promotes lifelong learning through extensive training programs, providing
3,474 hours of external and in-house training in 2024. Employees are supported
with flexible work schedules and study leave to pursue further education.
ADOC forbids discrimination on the grounds of gender and respects every individual’s
fundamental rights. To prevent any inequalities in the workplace, ADOC has a robust
Code of Conduct that every employee and Contractor must abide by.
We provide equal opportunities for career development, training, and leadership roles,
ensuring that women have access to the same resources and support as their male
counterparts. In 2024, women represented 13% of our total workforce.
We are committed to sustainable water management, with a focus on reducing
freshwater withdrawal and maximizing reuse. In 2024, 100% of the treated water
from our sewage treatment plants (STP) was reused for irrigation, including
ADOC’s mangrove plantation on Mubarraz Island.
ADOC is dedicated to preventing hydrocarbon spills through stringent operational
procedures and adheres firmly to both national and international standards for
discharges into marine ecosystems.
Our transition to ISO 50001:2018 for energy management reflects our dedication
to optimizing energy use. We continuously invest in energy efficiency and emission
reduction initiatives, including zero flaring, sour gas injection, and exploration of carbon
capture technologies.
ADOC supports sustainable economic development by ensuring stable crude oil
production and investing in local procurement. In 2024, 96% of our procurement
spend was directed to local vendors. In addition, we promote nationalization efforts
by giving priority to hiring suitable nationals for job openings. 35% of our workforce
comprised Emirati Nationals, as of December 2024.
